Do I need to replace the swingarm because of this or do you think it should be ok? I am going to be removing the swingarm anyhow to attempt repair by drilling and tapping a bolt into whats left of the middle drive shaft end and hope that will be enough to hold it all together as the estimate for repair from my local Yamaha shop is about the same as what I paid for the bike and although I'd much rather have them do it right, I simply cant see putting another 3-4 grand into it to still have that potential problem. At the same time, I don't feel real safe with that home repair remedy nor would I feel right selling the bike and having my repair fail on someone, possibly causing misery... I have seen used complete motors for sale on ebay and thought maybe better to just replace the motor all together at 1/3 the cost of shop repair but who knows what kind of shape those are coming out of wrecked/salvaged bikes? I'm kinda stuck here......
